Ultrasonic Rhinoplasty
Rhinoplasty, often called a “nose job,” is a surgical procedure that reshapes and refines the nose to improve its aesthetic appearance and, when needed, its function such as breathing. The goal is a natural, balanced nasal contour that harmonizes with the rest of the face.
How Does Surgery Work?
Rhinoplasty is typically performed using an open technique, where a small incision is made inside the nose and sometimes at the columella (the tissue between the nostrils) to allow precise reshaping. The surgeon may remove or sculpt bone and cartilage, refine the tip, smooth a bump, or narrow the nasal bridge. Ultrasonic methods (Piezzo) can be used for even more precise bone reshaping with less trauma. The procedure takes about 2 hours and is usually done under general anesthesia.
Are You a Good Candidate?
Good candidates are adults in generally good health who wish to refine the shape, size, or proportions of the nose and have realistic expectations. Rhinoplasty can also be beneficial if you have functional concerns like breathing difficulties due to septal deviation or nasal obstruction. A consultation determines the individualized plan.
